Elida and Memorial are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Roughriders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Elida blew Lima Central Catholic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Lima Central Catholic got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 5-3. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Elida saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan McGue, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Memorial fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Fort Recovery on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Roughriders have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Elida, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Elida came out on top in a nail-biter against Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Roughriders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
