Soccer Game Preview: Lanier vs. Edison

The Lanier Voks will take on the Edison Golden Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lanier headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Seguin let them put that streak behind them. Lanier was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Seguin on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Voks' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Edison was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Fox Tech could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Lanier's win bumped their record up to 5-3-1. Edison's draw makes their record 2-5-1 this season.

Everything went Lanier's way against Edison in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Lanier made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Lanier repeat their success, or does Edison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
