Baseball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall and Roosevelt squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Marshall had to settle for second. They fell 6-3 to the Rough Riders. The loss continues a trend for the Barristers in their meetings with the Rough Riders: they've now lost five in a row.

Ramiro Veloz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Marshall is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-16 otherwise.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Roosevelt, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 9-20 record.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Narbonne at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
