Basketball Recap: Kennedy Woolston Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverton

It's playoff time, and Lone Peak had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 48-42 W over the Riverton Silverwolves on Thursday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Silverwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lone Peak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kennedy Woolston led the charge by putting up 14 points. Woolston is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Tatiana Harness was another key player, earning ten points and three steals.

Riverton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Faythe Stauffer, who went 8-for-14 en route to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Murdock, who posted 11 points.

Lone Peak pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Riverton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Lone Peak will challenge Syracuse at 5:50 p.m. on Monday. Syracuse has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Riverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
