            Softball Recap: Charlevoix Rayders vs. Elk Rapids Elks        
        
		
        
        
            Charlevoix extended their losing streak  to six  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They came up short against  the Elk Rapids Elks, falling  17-0. The  contest marked the first time this year in which the Rayders were not able to get on the board.
As for Elk Rapids, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 20 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record  this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by eight  runs or more this season.
For Elk Rapids' part,  Jillian Moazeni made a splash no matter where she played. She  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Moazeni was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Emily Vandergriff was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last 11  contests. Another player making a difference was  Payton Friess, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Coincidentally, Charlevoix and Elk Rapids will both be playing Traverse City Central the next time they take the field. The Rayders will head out to face the Trojans at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday, while the Elks will play them later in the day, at 4:30  p.m.
