Baseball Recap: Alleghany Takes a Loss

Alleghany was the 7-6 winner over Elkin when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Buckin' Elks by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly two runs.

Garrett Higgins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Damon Davis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Alleghany is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13. As for Elkin, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

While Alleghany had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
