Baseball Recap: Victor Valley Takes a Loss

Victor Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barstow Aztecs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Victor Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Middlebrooks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Middlebrooks has posted since back in April of 2024. Emilio Sbolci also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Victor Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Barstow, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Coming up, Victor Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Victor Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Granite Hills has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Barstow, they are taking a road trip to take on Excelsior Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Excelsior Charter has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.36 runs per game on average), something Barstow will no doubt try to take advantage of.
