Volleyball Recap: South Rowan Raiders vs. Carson Cougars
After flying high against East Rowan on Tuesday, South Rowan came back down to earth. The Raiders came up short against the Carson Cougars on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
South Rowan was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.
Avery Fisher paced South Rowan's offense, picking up 13 kills. Fisher got some help from Meghan Eagle and her 13 assists. Campbell Withers controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Carson found their leader in sophomore Carmen Graham, who had eight digs and two aces.
South Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Carson, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-3.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. South Rowan will be playing in front of their home fans against Stuart W. Cramer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carson, they will face off against North Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
