Basketball Recap: West Vigo Takes Down Eastern Greene in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Vigo had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-29 win over the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

Despite the loss, Eastern Greene saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kyan Hudson shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points. Hudson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Sykes, who posted seven points.

West Vigo's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Eastern Greene, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Looking ahead, West Vigo will challenge North Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Greene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
