Recap: South Wake Sabres vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs
After a string of four wins, the South Wake Sabres's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 77-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wake Christian Academy. South Wake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wake Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Friday.
Despite the loss, South Wake still got an impressive performance from Jacob Webb, who scored 22 points along with five steals. Webb continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Wright, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wake Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Berkley Coon, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 5 assists. The contest was Coon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
South Wake's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Wake Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
South Wake will be playing at home against Chatham HomeSchool at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chatham HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against GRACE Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully GRACE Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
