Chugiak (Eagle River, Alaska) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 5 in Alaska, but was stunned by
Dimond (Anchorage, Alaska), 6-0. Dimond was ranked at No. 21 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Alaska coming into the week.
The score was knotted at zero heading into the half. The Lynx took the lead for good on a touchdown run by
J j Tanuvasa in the fourth quarter.
Dimond didn't regain the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Tanuvasa ran for a touchdown.
The win was a nice bounce back for DHS, which lost to Eagle River last week, 36-29. The defeat comes as a step back for Chugiak, who notched a 14-7 victory over West in its previous outing. The loss snapped Chugiak's two-game winning streak. The victory snapped Dimond's two-game losing streak.
In a Cook Inlet game next week Dimond (1-2) takes on Bartlett, and Chugiak (2-1) will go up against Service also in a Cook Inlet game.
