Basketball Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. New Albany Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Pickerington North Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the New Albany Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Pickerington North came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Grove City, falling 66-36. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Albany). They breezed by Central Crossing to the tune of 77-45 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Pickerington North's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for New Albany, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Pickerington North was able to grind out a solid victory over New Albany in their previous meeting back in January, winning 61-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pickerington North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
