Volleyball Recap: ALA - Ironwood Takes a Loss

ALA - Ironwood suffered their biggest defeat since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the ALA - West Foothills Guardians. The Warriors have struggled against the Guardians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

While ALA - Ironwood was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Erick Hernandez paced ALA - Ironwood's offense, picking up ten kills. Hernandez got some help from Joseph Tampos and his 22 assists. Jayda Dominguez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Parker Mitchell, who had 19 assists and four digs. Those 19 assists gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Crawford also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

ALA - Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for ALA - West Foothills, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

ALA - West Foothills has already played their next contest (against Leading Edge Academy - GEC), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. ALA - Ironwood will be paying especially close attention to the Guardians' game: after the Guardians faces off against Parker, they'll take on ALA - Ironwood again at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
