Baseball Recap: Bronson Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lumen Christi Catholic, Bronson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Clinton Redskins. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 14-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Max Byler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylan Fincham, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Reid Stukey was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one RBI.

Bronson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bronson's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Clinton, they moved to 8-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Bronson will challenge Napoleon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clinton, they will take on Lumen Christi Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
