The Winfield Generals will challenge the Nitro Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Winfield beat Chapmanville Regional 44-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Generals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kynnlee Mcclure, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Mcclure is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games she's played. Brooklyn Cole was another key player, putting up seven points.
Meanwhile, Nitro faced Greenbrier East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Nitro blew past Greenbrier East 69-49. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.
Winfield better focus on containing Natalie Smith and Brooklyn Cawley as the pair were huge in Nitro's win. Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, while Cawley went 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Gibson, who posted nine points.
Nitro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.
Nitro pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points over those games. As for Winfield, their record is now 10-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Winfield has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Nitro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Winfield came up short against Nitro in their previous matchup back in January, falling 55-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Smith, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Now that Winfield knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
