Softball Game Preview: Ferndale Golden Eagles vs. Lakewood Cougars

Ferndale hasn't had much luck against Lakewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Ferndale will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakewood at 4:00 p.m.

Ferndale lost 14-3 to Lake Stevens on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaelin Blakley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Lakewood posted their closest victory since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 win over Mt. Baker. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Riley Pevny was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. Cassidy Wolfe was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lakewood, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
