Football Recap: Brookstone's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five + How To Watch

Brookstone put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Brookstone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Broughton Branch led the charge by throwing for 370 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 17.6 yards per attempt. With that strong performance, Branch is now averaging an impressive 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. 126 of Branch's passing yards were hauled in by Sammie Laboy, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Southwest Georgia Academy still got an impressive performance from Colt Williams, who rushed for 129 yards and a pair of scores.

Brookstone's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Brookstone didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 41-14 defeat against Stratford Academy on the 19th. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 44-0 win against Calhoun County on the 19th.
