Volleyball Recap: Hendrickson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Elgin last Friday, Hendrickson came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Weiss Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost four in a row.

While Hendrickson ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 11 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Hendrickson still got an impressive performance from Kenna Braden, who had 26 assists and ten digs. With that strong performance, Braden is now averaging an impressive 12.3 assists per game.

Leading Weiss to victory were Ashley Go and Ava Jackson. Go had 19 digs and three assists, while Jackson had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Jackson has posted over her last six contests.

Hendrickson's loss dropped their record down to 15-22. As for Weiss, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hendrickson and Weiss will both be playing Georgetown the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolves will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
