Basketball Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

The Harding Skippers will face off against the Grand Valley Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harding comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Wednesday, Harding was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-26 to Lake Ridge Academy.

Despite the loss, Harding saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Adams posted ten points. Those ten points gave Adams a new career-high. Jaylen Alspaugh also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Grand Valley against Windham on Monday as the squad secured a 53-13 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 31 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Grand Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Harding lost to Grand Valley at home by a decisive 59-40 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Harding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
