The University Christian Christians will venture away from home to face off against the Middleburg Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. University Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Middleburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
University Christian is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since May 8, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out North Florida Christian 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Christians.

Caden Worbington was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Corey Wimberly and Bryson Harnage did most of the damage at the plate: Wimberly got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Harnage scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Middleburg fell victim to Palatka and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Broncos were not able to get on the board.
Logan Wehrmeyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits.
University Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Middleburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Middleburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for Middleburg, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain University Christian's hitters?
University Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Middleburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for University Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
