Volleyball Recap: Lockport Finds Home Court Redemption Against Joliet Catholic

There's no place like home for Lockport, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Porters as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

While Lockport won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-23.

Adam Gieser paced Lockport's offense, picking up eight kills. Gieser got some help from Ryan Dziadkowiec and his ten assists.

Lockport's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-7. As for Joliet Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Lockport will welcome Providence Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Joliet Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Lincoln-Way Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Hilltoppers surely won't give up without a fight.
