Softball Recap: Ogemaw Heights Takes a Loss

Ogemaw Heights was the 7-3 winner over Gladwin when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Flying G's by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Aubrey Evans led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Illig, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Ogemaw Heights' record is now 1-5. As for Gladwin, their record now sits at 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ogemaw Heights will take on Shepherd at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluejays have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Gladwin, they will challenge Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
