Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Jacksonville Christian Academy came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Cedar Bluff Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 75-59. This was a revenge game for the Thunder: when they faced off against the Tigers on December 2nd, they had to take a 71-57 loss.

Jacksonville Christian Academy was led to victory by Jesse Gannaway and Noah Lee. Gannaway went 11 of 24 en route to 27 points along with six assists and six boards, while Lee dropped a double-double on 16 points and 25 boards. The contest was Gannaway's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Dowdey, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Cedar Bluff, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksonville Christian Academy will venture away from home to square off against Saks at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Jacksonville Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Cedar Bluff, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sand Rock at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
