Basketball Recap: Dayton Dust Devils vs. Spring Creek Spartans
Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Spring Creek Spartans, falling 49-22. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dust Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-22 back in January.
Despite the loss, Dayton had strong showings from Aileen Hernandez, who posted nine points, and Madison Cleland, who earned seven points. Sadie Moore also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Ryan Youngblood was a one-woman wrecking crew for Spring Creek as she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Youngblood a new career-high. Reyce Schenk was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.
Dayton's record now sits at 1-14. As for Spring Creek, their record is now 9-10.
Dayton has already played their next game (against Elko), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Spring Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-37 defeat against Fernley on the 1st.
