Baseball Game Preview: Marmion Cadets vs. Sycamore Spartans

Marmion hasn't had much luck against Sycamore recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cadets will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m.

Marmion couldn't beat Aurora Christian on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Cadets fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5.

Marmion got a good showing from Eddie Morvice, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morvice has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Flores made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronan O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sycamore had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Sterling by a score of 13-10 on Monday. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Sycamore's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Marmion, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12-1.
