The Dover Crimson Tornadoes will head out on the road to take on the West Branch Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Dover's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Madison Comprehensive's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Crimson Tornadoes put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 16-3 victory. Considering the Crimson Tornadoes have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kara Lint looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Dover got a massive performance out of Avery Contini, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Contini a new career-high. Charlie Reese was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
11 must be West Branch's lucky number: they beat Louisville with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Warriors beat the Leopards by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Libbie Davis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zoe Metzgar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
West Branch's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dover, their record is now 21-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dover took their win against West Branch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimson Tornadoes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
