Football Recap: Jeremiah James and Ja'cari Harris Secure Win for Notre Dame Prep

Notre Dame Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Joel Barlow, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 28-7 margin over the Falcons on Friday. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 36-34 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ja'Cari Harris and Jeremiah James. Harris rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries while James rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 112 rushing yards gave James a new career-high.

Notre Dame Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Joel Barlow only rushed for 167 rushing yards.

Notre Dame Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Razor and Bryant Tarczali.

Despite the loss, Joel Barlow still got an impressive performance from Kaden Holub, who rushed for 80 yards and one score.

Notre Dame Prep has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points this season. As for Joel Barlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame Prep will take on Stratford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Joel Barlow, they will square off against Northwest Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
