East Bladen waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-21 victory over the West Bladen Knights. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Bladen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laila Smith, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. NeNe Ward was another key player, going 8-for-10 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

East Bladen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why West Bladen lost, don't look at Micheala Hester. Despite the final result, she posted six points.

East Bladen pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points over those games. As for West Bladen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

East Bladen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Bladen, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 40-37 victory against Red Springs on the 14th.
