Dowling Catholic came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Ankeny Hawks as they made off with a 50-27 victory. Given the Maroons' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Hawks are ranked 30th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dowling Catholic pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Ankeny, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Dowling Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ankeny will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sioux City East on February 22nd. One thing working in Sioux City East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
