Boardman entered their tilt with Riverside on Wednesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Beavers a 4-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Beavers back in April, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Boardman saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Wymer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Boardman's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-5.

Boardman and Riverside are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Spartans will take on Springfield at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverside, they will challenge Perry at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight.
