Petaluma dropped their record down to 14-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 4-1 to the Casa Grande Gauchos. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Casa Grande, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Casa Grande's part, Brady Laubscher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Laubscher has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Gavin Lee was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Mountanos was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Petaluma beat Casa Grande by a score of 5-0 on Thursday.
