Baseball Game Preview: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. First Flight Nighthawks

For the second straight game, Pasquotank County will face off against First Flight. The Panthers will welcome the Nighthawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pasquotank County has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while First Flight will arrive with three straight wins.

Pasquotank County's last matchup with First Flight could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Nighthawks, falling 19-2.

For First Flight's part, Ben LaVier looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. LaVier has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Everest Ouellette was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Stewart, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.

First Flight kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for First Flight, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
