Softball Recap: Taconic Hills Beats Greenville for Their Third Straight Win

Taconic Hills hadn't done well against Greenville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Titans blew past the Spartans 23-2. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kaylin Brazie made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bria Madison was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Schrader, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Taconic Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .780. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Taconic Hills' third in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Greenville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
