Softball Recap: Milton Takes a Loss

Milton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gulf Breeze Dolphins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 8-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Natalie Fahr and Madison Vanderburg stepped up to the plate in a big way. Fahr scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Vanderburg scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataleah Silva Montoya, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gulf Breeze, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton will square off against Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gulf Breeze, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Tate at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
