Softball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Manchester, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Northwest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Lyons, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Eilley Weber also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Manchester, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Northwest will host Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Manchester, they will welcome Canton South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
