Volleyball Recap: Ana Torres and Phoenix Kimura Secure Win for Englewood

Englewood's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Raines Vikings 3-0. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Englewood not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Raines between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.

Leading Englewood to victory were Phoenix Kimura and Ana Torres. Kimura had 23 digs, while Torres had 13 digs. Those 23 digs gave Kimura a new career-high. Polyana Oliveira also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Englewood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Raines, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, Englewood will welcome Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raines, they will head out on the road to face off against Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
