Preview: Clark Chargers vs. Coronado Cougars

Two dominant guards in Ariana Brown and Scarlet Lopez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clark Chargers will be playing at home against the Coronado Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Clark has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Coronado will arrive with three straight victories.

Clark suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 67-29 loss at the hands of Desert Pines.

Meanwhile, Coronado faced Desert Pines in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coronado pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over Desert Pines. 53 seems to be a good number for Coronado as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Gabrielle Brooks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Ella Creer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Clark's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-9. As for Coronado, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Clark beat Coronado 52-39 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Does Clark have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coronado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
