The Elkhart Elks will challenge the Fairfield Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairfield will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Elkhart extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Elks were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Mexia.

Rylee Lohmeyer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ella Lively was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. Cydni Boyd was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Elkhart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mexia only posted an OBP of .412.
Meanwhile, Fairfield got the win against Buffalo on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won five in a row.
Like Elkhart, Fairfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Haylee Allen. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Allen was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Fultz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Cadence Webster, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 15-6-1. As for Elkhart, their victory bumped their record up to 19-5.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Elkhart has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .485. However, it's not like Fairfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
