Basketball Game Preview: First Coast Buccaneers vs. KIPP Bold City Greyhounds

The First Coast Buccaneers will head out to face off against the KIPP Bold City Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for First Coast and 26 for KIPP Bold City dating back to last season.

First Coast is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Bishop Snyder on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. First Coast lost 63-39 to Bishop Snyder. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 538th, while the Cardinals are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, KIPP Bold City didn't have quite enough to beat Wolfson on Wednesday and fell 27-24.

KIPP Bold City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for First Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything came up roses for First Coast against KIPP Bold City when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 57-15 win. In that contest, First Coast amassed a halftime lead of 41-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
