Football Game Preview: Central Crossing Comets vs. Grove City Greyhounds

Central Crossing is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Grove City a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Central Crossing Comets will be playing at home against the Grove City Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Central Crossing's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Westerville Central on Friday. They had to suffer through a 30-0 loss at the hands of the Warhawks. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Warhawks are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, Grove City managed to keep up with Lincoln until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Greyhounds came up short against the Lions, falling 44-20. The Greyhounds were down 37-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Central Crossing will need to focus on slowing down Owen Steele, one of several Grove City players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 182 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Steele's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Carson Welsh, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Central Crossing's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Grove City, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
