Baseball Recap: Sterling Takes a Loss

Sterling fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Cherry Hill West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4.

Dean Collins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Cherry Hill West, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sterling and Cherry Hill West will both be playing Paul VI the next time they take the field. The Silver Knights will host the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
