After a string of seven wins, Western Albemarle's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Godwin Eagles by a score of 54-51. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.

Western Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Godwin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Western Albemarle will head out on the road to square off against Fluvanna County at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Godwin, they will welcome Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th.
