Soccer Game Preview: Bishop O'Dowd vs. Marin Academy

The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons will square off against the Marin Academy Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marin Academy will be up against a hot Bishop O'Dowd squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Bishop O'Dowd never let Castro Valley onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The Dragons wouldn't have won without Sean Carney, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Marin Academy fell victim to Dougherty Valley and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Marin Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Dougherty Valley is ranked 99th).

This is the second loss in a row for Marin Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-5-3. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they pushed their record up to 4-3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
