Football Recap: Houston's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Houston walked away with it. They walked away with a 33-22 win over the Germantown Red Devils on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in August, they had to take a 44-23 loss.

Canon Day went supernova, rushing for 125 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and one score. What's more, he posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Day was just one part of a punishing run game: Houston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Houston's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Germantown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Coming up, Houston will square off against Ravenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Raptors have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Germantown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
