Volleyball Game Preview: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. Calvary Christian Knights

The Stratford Academy Eagles will take on the Calvary Christian Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Stratford Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sherwood Christian Academy just ended the team's nine-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Sherwood Christian Academy by a score of 3-2.

Stratford Academy took Sherwood Christian Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 19-25, 17-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Calvary Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past LaGrange Academy 3-0 on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with LaGrange Academy recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Calvary Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-12.

Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Stratford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-12.

Stratford Academy came up short against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in August, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
