Volleyball Recap: Pathway Christian Starts off Right with Win over East Moline Christian

Pathway Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the East Moline Christian Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 3, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Pathway Christian never let East Moline Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 25-12.

Pathway Christian's offense was headlined by Lorena Helmuth and Maggie Shetler, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Leah Schrock and her 26 assists. Stella Gehman controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Despite the loss, East Moline Christian still got an impressive performance from Annie Willcox, who had five aces and two blocks.

East Moline Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Pathway Christian has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Faith Christian on the 21st. As for East Moline Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Quad Cities Christian on the 25th.
