Baseball Game Preview: Independence Blue Devils vs. Bard Early College Raptors

The Independence Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Bard Early College Raptors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Independence proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Aurora 3-2.

Dom Narduzzi was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bard Early College came up short against John Hay on Thursday and fell 7-4. The loss continues a trend for the Raptors in their meetings with John Hay: they've now lost five in a row.

Independence's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bard Early College, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Independence took their win against Bard Early College in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 21-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
