Basketball Recap: Mooresville Piles Up the Points Against Greenwood

A well-balanced attack led Mooresville over Greenwood in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mooresville Pioneers blew the Greenwood Woodmen out of the water with a 64-32 final score. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Woodmen are ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Randee Garringer, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Price, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Mooresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood only posted eight assists.

Mooresville has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Greenwood, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Mooresville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-56 win against Decatur Central on the 20th. As for Greenwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-39 loss against Park Tudor on the 18th.
