Baseball Recap: Deforest Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

While DeForest didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Oregon Panthers on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Saturday.

Nick Hermansen was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Goldschmidt, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

DeForest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

DeForest pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oregon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

DeForest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
