Baseball Recap: Rogers Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Timberlake, Rogers was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clarkston Bantams 12-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rogers let Tyler Prosser and Jacob Proctor run wild. Prosser scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Proctor scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Proctor a new career-high in RBI (three). Jastin Mooney was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rogers' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Clarkston, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Rogers will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clarkston: the pair will be back at it again later today.
